Top Ten Tuesday (3)
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This weeks theme is Top Ten Favorite Books With (your choice) Setting. I decided to choose my top favorite books with completely made-up settings (in no particular order).
1. Anything by Tamora Pierce
2. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster
3. Hawksong by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
4. Abarat by Clive Barker
5. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
6. Howl's Moving Castle by Dinna Wynne Jones
7. Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith
Hmm! Haven't heard of a lot of these!
ReplyDeleteCheck them out! I'm not usually into a lot of fantasy/made up worlds but these are all stellar.
DeleteGreat list! It's been years since I've read anything by Tamora Pierce but I enjoyed reading her Circle of Magic series :) I hope to get around to Jones' Howl's Moving Castle one of these days...

Thanks! Tamora Pierce is my childhood favorite author. I read all of her stuff multiple times.
DeleteOh my, I haven't heard of any of these except HP! have to try some of them out

Definitely! Most of them I just stumbled across at one point or another. They're all great though. Some crazy worldbuilding in there.
DeleteAhhh, I love Hawksong! More people need to know about it!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I was blown away the first time I read it. Especially for such a short book!
DeleteHarry Potter! Yes! The rest I haven;t heard of. I should really get more into reading!

Hahaha I feel like anyone who has a book blog is already pretty into reading but I completely recommend any of these books!
DeleteYes, yes, yes to Harry Potter. It's probably my favorite fantasy setting ever. And one of my favorite series, too. I really nee to read Tamora Pierce. I actually live in the town where she lives, so I feel doubly bad.
ReplyDeleteOf course I had to include Harry Potter! That's so cool that you share a town with Tamora Pierce; obviously I really recommend her works!
DeleteHarry Potter made my fantasy list this week too. Great picks!

So glad there's another Phantom Tollbooth lover out there! So much fun!
DeleteWonderful list! Five of my favorite authors of all time, I especially love seeing love for Tamora Pierce. I'll have to check out Hawksong based on the company it's keeping :).
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds like we have some similar tastes! And obviously I recommend Hawksong- it's fantastic.
DeleteThese are awesome choices and Tamora Pierce for the WIN!!! Also Howl's Moving Castle!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. I just followed you via every way I could. Hope you have an awesome day.
Haha thanks you're so sweet. I was following you already on BlogLovin!
DeleteOH MY GOD
ReplyDeleteI swear to god no one EVER talks about Abarat and it's a damn shame because that series (and the artwork that goes with it) is INSANELY awesome. (I think all my readers are getting sick because Abarat gets mentioned in easily 75% of my posts hahaha)
But on a sidenote that I've calmed down and actually looked at the rest of this list....I LOVE THIS LIST. It is rare that I come across a list I've read all the books of AND really, really loved them all
DeleteOkay 1) I'm really impressed that you've read all of the books on this list because I feel like most people have never read half of them 2) You obviously have really good taste because these are all some of my favorites
